Another curated selection by Bruce Murray of the Miami University Music Department, the award-winning Aeolus Quartet has received accolades all over the globe for its outstanding ensemble work. Formed in 2008 at the Cleveland Institute of Music, they were the Graduate Resident String Quartet at the Juilliard School and currently reside in New York City. the quartet has released two critically acclaimed albums of classic and contemporary works.
The Baltimore Sun praised them for "smoothly meshed technique with a sense of spontaneity and discovery." The quartet has collaborated with leading artists such as Renee Fleming, Ida Kavafian, Joel Krosnick, and Paul Neubauer, and it brings a sound that is all at once familiar and fantastic.
Dedicated to bringing music into the community, the Aeolus Quartet has been widely recognized for their highly innovative and engaging outreach programs.
