Join the OSQ performing two world premiers by Brazilian composer Lucas Galon who will be present at the concert.
The Oxford String Quartet will present music from three generations of Brazilian composers, culminating in two world premier performances by Lucas Galon, composer and conductor, from Ribeiaro Preto, Brazil. These works are a new string quartet, Four Brazilian Cities, dedicated to the OSQ and the Concertino for Violin. Percussion, and Strings which will be performed by current Brazilian graduate student Ricardo Palmezano, along with students and graduates of the music program at Miami.
The string quartet will illustrate these four cities in musical language: Brasilia, Ouro Preto, Ribeiaro Preto, and Rio de Janeiro
Interspersed with the new music will be works of Antonio Carlos Gomes (1836-1896) and Mozart Carmago Gaurnieri (1907-1993)
