Second Friday, sponsored by The Elms Hotel, is a FREE local celebration of the arts including music, new art exhibitions, an opening reception, open 3rd Floor Studios and ArtShop. This month we are opening exhibits from the Plein Air Painters of Oxford and Eric England (his "Containment Series") as well as enjoying a musical performance by the Ralph Jones Jazz Trio.

We are excited to feature a free musical performance of the Ralph Jones Jazz Trio sponsored by Jack and Sally Southard.

Exhibition Artists:

The Plein Air Painters Oxford is a group of artists, who paint outdoor scenes on location.  Painting outdoors inspires us to capture the true light and color with greater spontaneity.  We meet on Tuesday mornings together at a designated location in and around the greater Oxford area in Spring, Summer and Fall. We are delighted to open a new exhibit by the Plein Air Painters of Oxford! For more information go to: https://oxarts.org/portfolio-view/the-plein-air-painters-of-oxford/

Eric Scott England has occasionally been accused of being a Superhero, Interrupted. In that pursuit he has dissected some cadavers, animated commercials, spread the Good News in Soviet Romania, taught high school and university art, earned some advanced degrees, been shot down by Marvel and DC as a penciller, eaten a lot of doughnuts and Kraft macaroni & cheese, hit the gym, sculpted for Disney and Warner Brothers, published several webcomics, pushed his R1 to 161 m.p.h., doggedly written his congressmen, representatives and the last 3 presidents, amassed a cumbersome amount of comic-related paraphernalia, had shows here and there, written several screenplays,  traveled the land, and allegedly scribes a damn good email (complete with pictures, links, different font colors- the stuff of legend). Now his work will be featured at OCAC for a limited time.
