The Oxford Community Arts Center and ECO are hosting a special Second Friday featuring an exhibition of art pieces focusing on climate change and sustainability on May 10. The opening event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sponsored by the Elms Hotel, this exhibit turns science and societal impacts into artistic action to raise awareness about climate change. The exhibition activates reflection, questioning, understanding, and action by highlighting the various interpretations and experiences of climate change as felt by artists and community members. The exhibition will include artwork by Talawanda Middle School, Miami University students, and community members.
The Art Shop and 3rd-floor art studios will be open to guests throughout the event.
Special guests, The Todds will perform starting at 7:30 pm. Second Friday musical performances are sponsored by Jack and Sally Southard.
There will be tables and displays from other community groups to find out more about how to engage in positive efforts towards climate change. The exhibition will be on display until June 10.
