About the Peace and Quiet Exhibit:
In the United States, our political sphere has been tumultuous. Our social sphere has unresolved issues. Existential threats, such as climate change and the pandemic, impose themselves into our present. Peace and quiet may seem desirable at this juncture.
OCAC presents the juried group exhibition “Peace and Quiet." Whether real or imagined, formal or conceptual, the exhibit features artwork in a variety of mediums that address the themes of contemplation, meditation, and seeking moments of peace and quiet in troubled times.
About the Jericho Old Time Band
The Jericho Old Time Band (Jericho) is an old-time string band based in Oxford, Ohio. Jericho’s members are Warren & Judy Waldron, Amy Cogan Clay, and Dale Farmer.
Jericho brings a lot of fun to the stage performing old-time Appalachian string music. And sometimes Amy can’t help but put her banjo down and do some traditional flat-foot dancing to the driving fiddle and guitar.
For the past ten years, Jericho has been a staple band at the Oxford Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings. They also host a monthly square/contra dance at the Oxford Community Arts Center. Jericho can be heard at various music festivals, libraries, community centers, square dances and even a few weddings.
Jericho Old Time Band members were all recently featured in the independent film The Mountain Minor, written and directed by Jericho band member Dale Farmer. Promoting the film, Jericho has kept busy performing at film screenings, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, and the nationally syndicated TV show Song of the Mountains.
The OCAC Live Stream is not available this month, but will be back for future events!
