2nd Friday Celebration

THE MACKEY BROTHERS
Date: Friday, July 9, 7:30 pm
Location: Outdoor Pavilion at the Oxford Community Arts Center
Cost: Free

The Mackey Brothers Band plays hard-rockin' blues in the style of the great guitar “gunslingers” of the 60s and 70s. Brothers Tom and Dave fell in love with the sounds of The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and The Allman Brothers while jamming in their basement in Oxford Ohio. Separated when Tom moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, the Mackey Brothers reunite in 2021 to rock out righteously!

Tom Mackey — You have got to see this man play guitar. He makes it talk. Known in the East Bay music scene as a scorching hot lead man, and known as a mentor of talented guitarists in Ohio, he’s back! Enjoy!

Dave Mackey — Known to Southwest Ohio music fans for his drumming with Wizard, Mandolin Bridge, and Lisa Biales, Dave is the consummate working drummer. Dave is happiest when people are dancing to his music.

Dave Burk — Fans of Swingfoot will recognize Dave’s singing and bluesy harmonica stylings. Dave’s job each performance is simple—to top Tom Mackey going toe-to-toe playing blues riffs. Good luck with that, man.

David Yates — A former neighbor of Dave Mackey, David recently moved way out beyond the Cincinnati beltway, but in joining the Mackey Brothers, he has found the heart of his soul. An avid audiophile and electrical engineer, David will literally be herding the electrons used in tonight’s show.
