The Plein Air Painters Oxford is a group of artists, who paint outdoor scenes on location. Painting outdoors inspires us to capture the true light and color with greater spontaneity. We meet on Tuesday mornings together at a designated location in and around the greater Oxford area in Spring, Summer and Fall.
For more information email Tracy (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Debra (email@example.com).
Artists contributing to this exhibit are:
Tracy Bezesky likes to paint in the great outdoors with the landscape right in front of me. The combination of skies, trees, rivers, and rolling hills are of interest. I like to lay down stokes of color, light and shade where I see it, and let it be, providing bolder color and texture. I have an art studio at the Art Center in Oxford. Come visit us on 2nd Friday’s, 6 to 9pm.
Debra Bowles of ArtistryFarm simply loves to paint outside: "Like farming, my art is weather dependent." Inspired by light, the texture of beeswax, and the translucency of lightfast inks on archival Bristol. Debra paints weekly with PleinAirPaintersOxford "en plein air" or in the Tower Room of Oxford Community Arts Center. SECOND FRIDAYS, find ArtistryFarm sun-dried paintings, farm-fresh block prints, Calligraphy, hand-dipped beeswax candles, and Grandmother's goat milk soaps in OCAC Studio 313
Howard Krauss is a self-taught watercolor artist who enjoys both plein air and studio painting in many locations around the world. Marcia Waller - My life as an artist started later than most people. “Learning to see” is an artist’s primary skill, one that I’m always practicing. For me, watercolor painting is the most enjoyable and challenging method of interpreting what I see. I enjoy travelling, so many of my subjects are what I see in a variety of places, as well as closer to home. I choose what I want to paint, but if a painting touches someone, or reminds them of something in their life, it’s a joy to me.
Andrea Yaeger started painting with the Plein Air group this spring. She graduated with a BFA degree in 2D design and has been painting ever since. She painted some of her favorite landscapes while living near Yosemite, Lake Michigan and in France. Since moving to Oxford six years ago, she has loved participating in local art groups while raising her four children. Currently, she enjoys creating murals and paintings from her home studio. She can be reached at: AndreaYaegerArt@gmail.com.
