The Des Fleurs Garden Club joined the OCAC family in 2005. This dynamic organization was founded in 1960 and through the years has made significant contributions to the Oxford community including the design, planting and maintenance of Inloes Gardens on the corner of High Street and Locust Ave.
In 2006 Des Fleurs facilitated the landscaping along the entire front of the Arts Center. With the expert assistance of local landscape designer, John Devore, garden club members provided ideas, design, labor and all of the funding for the project.
While continuing to maintain and fund the first phase of the OCAC gardens, Des Fleurs Garden Club, with the generous support of Margarette Beckwith of Beckwith-Chapman Associates Landscape Architecture, began building a children’s garden in the spring of 2007. While not yet named, this space offers hands on gardening experience for children attending the annual Gardeneering Camp at OCAC.
