OxACT: Holy Days
Holy Days, written by Sally Nemeth
Set in Kansas during the Dust Bowl, Holy Days tells the story of two brothers and their wives struggling to make it through the drought and winds that hit the southern Great Plains during the 30s, as they pull themselves together, and most importantly, hold on to the rituals of farm life. Described by Los Angeles Times as "The Grapes of Wrath in reverse," Holy Days is an elegy to the lost souls in the dying plains of Kansas who "clung to their blighted homesteads like bees to a poisoned hive."
